Well, I couldn't resist the Ford incentives on 2016's any longer and decided to trade my 2010 F-250 CCSB Lariat 6.4 for a 2016 F-250 CCSB Lariat 6.2. I was able to find one in the color I wanted, with most of the options I would have ordered, including 4.30 gears, ON THE LOT! Only thing it doesn't have that I really want is heated seats. Can't believe that isn't standard on Lariat. I may look into adding that in the future.
Really glad to be done with the 6.4. It never gave me any major problems, but I knew it wasn't a long term solution.
Looks nice. You'll love the 6.2. I have a 2011 6.2; nice and strong snd no issues - 87,000 miles.
You don't really need the heated seats; once you're sitting for a minute, your butt will have it warmed up. I hsve them (Lariat), but never use them. I have remote start, which I use and the car is nice and warm when I get in it in the winter.
Found it at a small town Ford dealer in Thorp, WI. They actually still have another one but it has a 8' box, which I wasn't interested in. They told me that Ford sent them these trucks because they had sold a similar one in the past. They didn't seem like they really wanted them, but were saddled with them by Ford. Doesn't seem like most dealers understand why we want the 4.30's.
I agree with you. When I was looking at getting mine, I found one dealer down in Farmington, New Mexico that stocked all of their 6.2's with the 4.30's.
When I called them as part of my research on them they told me that they sell a loft of gas Super Duty's to people hauling trailers and that the 4.30's have the best performance when towing with the 6.2.
I am very surprised more dealers don't stock them as standard.
I have a 2016 F-250 XLT 6.7L 4x4 truck and the only option I wish I could've got was heated seats. My understanding is, the only way to equip it with heated seats is to upgrade a trim level to the Lariat and higher levels, which come STANDARD with DATC along with heated/cooled seats. Either that, or install aftermarket add-on heated seats, not a fan of that, since I am a tech at a Ford dealership and have seen first hand the poor quality of aftermarket add-on type parts. Having said that, I didn't know or think it possible to have a Lariat WITHOUT heated/cooled seats, leather and DATC.
You will love the new truck. I have had my 2016 for 10 months and love it. Mine has the 3.73 gears but it pulls like a champ. I don't know why people think the 6.2 is a dog. Disappointing mileage but I knew that going in. Enjoy!
