Truck "hesitates" under light throttle
2008 F350, crewcab, longbox, 4x4. 6.4L, auto.
When I'm towing, I get a hesitation under very light throttle. The Ford tech said under 10% throttle. If I have an empty trailer on, cruising at 45-50 mph, and back out of it because, say, someone pulled in front of me, then gently ease into it to get back up to 50 mph, there is a hesitation that makes the truck jerk back and forth. ALMOST like I was kicking the gas pedal on purpose. If I either let off completely, then give it more fuel, or sometimes just give it more fuel, the hesitation goes away. It's starting to do it now when I'm loaded, and accelerating up to speed.
No codes.
Things I've done. The trailer I usually pull is a gooseneck, I tried a bumper pull, same problem. I've had three or four mechanics go for rides with scanners. My tranny guy said the tranny isn't hunting for a different gear, and it is staying locked up. Everybody thinks it's a fuel balance problem, but without any trouble codes they don't want to throw parts at the truck. It feels like if it was a gas engine I have one fouled spark plug.
Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks!!

Mine did same thing , if I slowed down for a red light and it turned green so Id step on it and there was a hesitation and a bucking.
Also checked tranny nothing wrong.
I thought I had my trailer loaded wrong first few times it was jerking away.
Never did find anything wrong.
