I am curious about seats...I have a 66 truck with no seats....was curious what the factory seats looked like.....what aftermarket seats some have used and what repurposed seats from another vehicle may have been used

Buckets/Bench?
1965/66 F100/250 Rangers used the same bucket seats, vinyl upholstery and seat tracks as 1965/66 Mustang (except the deluxe seats that had the running horse on the backrests).
Also required with these bucket seats are the 4 Ranger only brackets (R & L - front and rear) that raise and level the seats. These bolt to the floor pan, then to the seat tracks.
Here's a pic of what the bench seat for Standard and Custom Cabs looks like:
I've read that some people have used bench seats out of latter year trucks. The only hang ups being that they are slightly wider and can interfer with the doors if you have arm rests.
I put in bucket seats from a 69 mustang and it looks and fits great. Just make sure you get the correct brackets. Also thunderbird seats will work great too. Good luck man!!
This is the seat I pulled from my Dad's friends '66 Mercury Custom Cab.
You can get new coverings from SMS Auto Fabrics if you desire the stock look. There are probably better pics and different colours if you search the forums a bit.
Here is a pic of the seat in my new parts truck. It is a standard cab model so there is no insignia. With the custom ride you are building wide buckets with arm rests on each chair would be a nice fit.
The seats I had bought are just not going to work...they don't fit or look right.....If I had a bench seat I would use it....will keep looking at all options....thanks for all the replies

All Standard and Custom Cabs had the gear and lightning bolt embossed at the center upper of the backrest.
The above is not the original upholstery, plus...the pattern is wrong.
That seat looks exactly the same as what I had in my Canadian '65 F100 Custom Cab, just in Medium Green, as in the first pic. The seat looks more Blue in the 2nd pic.
I agree, that this covering was not likely the original, nor the correct seat for a truck with the Custom Cab trim, but I assumed that it was correct for a Standard Cab truck.
1965 Ford/Mercury trucks assembled and only sold new in Canada, use a different VIN & Warranty Plate/codes than US trucks.
1965: The TRIM code (seat upholstery) follows the VIN on the top line of the plate, post what it is. The upholstery used in Canada may be different than US trucks.

1966/68 Ford/Mercury trucks assembled and only sold new in Canada, use the same VIN and Warranty Plate/codes as US trucks.
1966/68: The BODY code (seat upholstery) is stamped on the 2nd line of the plate. Since the codes stamped on this plate are the same as US trucks, the upholstery will be the same.
The Canada/USA debates continue. I have no reason to suspect the seat was touched in any way except for the roasted nuts area. I will post the door tag which matches the dealer issued warranty card and registration papers and the tag on the firewall. I will attempt to look for a part number under the seat... in the snow up hill both ways
Well I looked at the seat and the only tag I found had a stamp on the back of it saying May 1966. The other part number made no sense and may be hard to read in the photo. Sorry for the laziness but an early winter storm caught me off guard with more important tasks.
