Charcoal Canister

Just a question, but has anyone ever eliminated the charcoal canister thing that the fuel tank vent goes to and just installed a vented gas cap?

If so, how did you do it and where did you get the vented cap?

I did away with mine... "84 351HO ....several years ago...and ran the canister line to a fitting on the carb. spacer. Fumes go directly into intake..

If you do this you may have to do a little re-tuning of the carb. That would look like a vacuum leak to the carb most of the time, extra fuel at other times.

I would also be afraid of the fumes from the tank filling up the intake and making the engine hard to start/flood on a hot day.
