So I've been messing with my '83 250 pretty constantly the last few weeks, and now am looking to put some kind of off-road/winch mount bumper on the front.
Here's the problem; I cannot find any!
Any thoughts here? I'm trying to find something that is an older style, ie full grille and light coverage. Winch mount I'm not nearly as concerned about, I can adapt that later.
Welcome to FTE....Brush guards are pretty scarce. It has been brought up a few times.
It's most likely going to be a JY find or getting lucky on CL or eBay like 1986F150six posted.
Have a look at post #13 on this thread from April. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ack-truck.html
Going to head to Belton, TX soon with the Mrs and look at the trucks to stock up on spares/hard to find stuff. I've decided not to go with a brush guard because the Mrs and I agree it looks nice without one.
Look outright fancy compared to the candy stores around here.
Boy Yer not kiddin' ! Downright Fancy. Do they have them Cement Ponds out there too? I'd rent me one of them semi's to fill up with them parts !
Seriously though...I wish we had that kind of JY availability up here. I would have been at Level IV Parts Hoarding a long time ago. You would be watching me on reality TV. "Ford Parts Hoarders on the Discovery Channel"..Tuesdays at 10 pm est, 9 pm cst.

My only issue is that most of the parts I've looked for are the perishable types. Dash, door panels, plastics and cardboard stuff. Most of the trucks get left open and they throw the interior into the truck bed and leave it there. But being patient has paid off.
I would love to do a road trip and go to all the Pick N Pulls around New Mexico and Arizona! Dem some dry places there! No/minimal rust!
I wish I hadn't scrapped my brush guard now. Didn't realize they were so rare. It was dented quite a bit, but wasn't bent. I like the way mine looks without it.
I inherited this one when I bought the bronco in 2011. I have no idea who made it.
I also used to have one of the little silver chrome mini push bars too on my F100. Found it on a step side in a junk yard.
I've been experimenting with a three light bar that Is removable, bolted to the bumper. It is for a Jeep TJ wrangler and comes in chrome or black - it's by rugged ridge.
Gives more of a Baja look without being too huge. See what you think, not sure of it yet
I'll be mounting a third day lighter in the middle, the fog lights on the side can be removed also. Will go with black covers as well I think
However for me the point of the brushguard that I'm looking for would be more for pushing and such.
Seems that I'm going to have to learn how to weld and make my own for two reasons: 1) They are damn scarce. 2) From what I read they aren't really for pushing.
All good, I've wanted to learn how to weld for years.

Most "brush guards" were made for "brush". Pushbars and bullbars are more meant for what you want to do and are frame mounted vs. bumper mounted. Kinda like the P71 Crown Victoria's where the pushbar wraps up under the front bumper fascia and mounts to the frame.
