Most "brush guards" were made for "brush". Pushbars and bullbars are more meant for what you want to do and are frame mounted vs. bumper mounted. Kinda like the P71 Crown Victoria's where the pushbar wraps up under the front bumper fascia and mounts to the frame.
Yup, exactly what I was thinking.

Pretty unbelievable......that monstrosity hangs off of 4 bumper bolts !
Nice weld work though.
