Don't hate me,,, but I've got 2 topside creepers and one telescoping tool tray. I really don't use the tray so much,, but I'm fairly spoiled and lay on the creeper and call for tools. Lol. I'd close the freakin doors without the topside. And I have closed the doors cause I've broke the last Milwaukee. The 3/8" Milwaukee is a godsend. I think I have 6 of em. They don't hold up to rigorous work,, but who cares. I prob break one every two weeks. I'm VERY hard on em. Prob pull the trigger 500 times a day. Luckily they have a 5 yr warranty and there's a factory repair facility 5 miles away.
Zenex used to make the one for Snap On,they went belly up. Look on Ebay you can probably get one cheap. It's a good ratchet.
I will have to look into that. I have a pretty good impact driver but certain areas I just cant get to with it like under the cowl working on turbo exhaust clamps. It sucks doing those by hand.
Lets face it,getting old sucks. Working on these trucks while your getting old sucks even more. I know they have topside creepers.magnetic pans to hold your tools and parts. I got to develop a tray that can hold your tools and you can move easily out or in while you are working, cheaply. The topside creeper is on my wish list. I made a set up that works good for now but it's not a top side creeper. A movable tray for tools would be the ticket. Anyone got ideas or info?
These folding Werner benches work for me. I picked up a few of them at Lowe's for $17 each during their annual black friday ads. The only drawback is that sometimes when reaching and stretching with effort, the bench wants to slide out a bit. Even with that they are stable enough for this application.
These work good and can handle me and a cylinder head without coming apart. I do however cargo strap the fkn thing to the truck after it came sliding out from under me when reaching in under the hood. A quick strap from tire to tire and around the platform keeps it from moving.
im young, dumb and 6'4... i typically stand on a milk crate to work on my truck thats lifted 4" lol. Or jump up and kneel on the radiator support or whatever you want to call it if i need to reach far back. I can do most things just standing on a crate though.
And the valley between the grille and radiator holds all my tools. One of those 3/8 milwaukee ratchets has been on my wish list for a while. i have their 1/4 and 3/8 impacts now and use them as much as i can
69cj, could you send me the details on that lift, man I want one of those but get bogged down when reading specs on them. Found them for 10,000 lb lift from $2,000.00 to $4,000.00 and don't know the difference.
