I ordered the reverse alarm on my '15 and really like it, its a safety measure. My only complaint is that you cannot turn it off, which can make a lot of people mad when you leave out early am from an RV park etc.
Anyone ordered for their '17 and if so has Ford made a provision to selectively turn it off either by hard switch or software on the computer screen?
Tomorrow I go place my order and this is the last thing that has been holding me up, no one has the answer, but I have found out that if ANYONE has the answer its folks on this forum...Thanks.
It would be super easy to use one of the upfitters and run a wire back there and splice the switch in series to the alarm. I wouldn't let that hold me up for one second!

Gonna end up taking a pass on it, don't need it like I used to due to a camera...
It can't be disabled on the 17, but as far as I could tell looking under the truck, the same wiring/relay in another thread on here (I can dig it up if you want, I need to anyway..) will work just fine here.
It's the very first mod I plan to do when I back it into the driveway at home. Install relay to last upfitter. Will normally be in 'off' position.
Great idea to pass on a back up horn...lol On a commercial vehicle maybe but not for a personal vehicle IMO.
Not really, hauled a truck camper around and with no camera you cannot see behind you at all. While I hope I don't hit a tree or something like that the back up alarm is to alert people and pets in crowded situations. Today maybe not as important as only a couple of years ago. Today we have cars and Super Duty's with 7 cameras on them.

That is why I ordered the portable back up camera, to go on the truck camper. Now my charming wife can flail her arms in all directions and it will still be my fault if I run over the fire pit or the electrical hook up. Tried the back up alarm but the dumb electrical hook up just stood there like a pedestrian looking for a personal injury claim.

Ras you are so right, cameras are now the norm, plus you get to see the wife show, flailing hers arms, pointing left when she means right, you need to move further over...over where, left, right, back???? LOL
We park a Prius under the carriage house, which has our au pair sleeping above. She complains the Prius wakes her up in the morning when we leave for work.
The diesel plus backup alarm is what I call "the Prius appeciation program".

Nothing to be sorry for every situation is different. Guess I have to ask if you have a basement under the carriage house if you are parking under it LOL.
My home in Va I had a 2 stall but no upper sleeping quarters. My neighbor had a 3 stall, but his home was built in 1852. I love those old places...
Carriage house may be the wrong term for what I have, I know there's some official French term for it the city uses it.
My house is U shaped, but rotate 90 degrees counter clockwise. So the real garage is at the back, so you drive under a guest bedroom And living room that over hangs the driveway.
The garage itself is said to fit 3 cars, 1 all the way back and 2 side by side blocking the 3rd. It does have 9' clearance which is nice. Truck will fit in there, but I'll probably mostly park the cab under the "carriage house" and leave the bed exposed in the open courtyard area. (This sounds fancier than it is)
I really got the alarm for those off times I'm backing up and even with cameras, worried about kids appearing out of no where. But it'll be rare, upfitter it is

Give here some earplugs. I can't even here a Prius when it attacks me in the crosswalk!!
