Here is an update. Been changing out master cylinders with no avail. My son finally took the original master apart along with a new one from the orielly store. What did we find?
Everything on it is smaller, the bore, the springs, the reservoir. WHAT THE HECK!!!!
I wonder if it had a master cylinder from an f-superduty. I believe it was 1/4" bigger.
Until you do the pinch test and have a full and hard petal with the engine running the master cylinder is still in the issue.
The booster has no mechanical effect other than multiplying the force upon the master cylinder. I was told this by the guy that told me about the pinch test.
I have bead all kinds of brake systems during my 70 years but this demon of a truck has to be the absolutely hardest truck to get the air out of the brake lines
Heck, I gave up working on the brake problem a bunch of times....$1000.00+ and 2 to 3 months before I got good brakes on my truck.
Final conclusion break is spelled brake and the air sucks to get out of this system. My son and I bled the system several times and the pneumatic bleeder was helpful. Harbor Freight has one for $30-$35. I know it pulled air out we could not get out the old school method.
Bleeding the master on the truck does not always work because the foot pedal does not push the plunger in all the way. Bleed the master in a vice "bench bleed" it. Sometimes after bleeding it, the brakes would be pretty good then we would try to tweak a little more air out and then we would just make it worse. Finally we just left it alone after getting it "pretty good", thats all it would give us. Well we have one nice looking brake system on it now. Again thanks to all the guys out there who helped! I hope someone finds this mess helpful lol.
