Changed the heater core today. Cleaned some trash from the side that goes to the kick panel vent, but didn't feel any in the actual heater ducting side. I can hear the doors move with the cable. Fan works on all 3 speeds, bird cage is in good shape.
My issue is I get a tiny amount of air flow both on the floor and out of the defrost. Not even enough air to make paper flutter. It will eventually defog my windshield but takes 5 minutes or more.
Can y'all point me in the next step direction I can look at or check? Is there a different name for the ducting I can use to search out more info? I have read a few google results from here but they had airflow that wouldn't change from vents to defrost. I have no flow.
I have not pulled my non-ac box apart as I am going with an ac box and you are right the doors move by cables as my 81 does.
Now what I do not know is if the doors both ac and non-ac use that crap plastic hinge. I would guess it is the same and the hinge broke and the only way to know for sure is to pull it apart to make sure.
I don't think I can get out to the garage today to check mine as it is out of the truck on the shelf but will try and get back.

I got it figured out. My blower motor was running the wrong direction. The po had cut the 2 wires, I assume to install a new motor. Anyway he hooked them back up backwards. It's a D.C. Motor so I just cut out the butt splices, added male and female spades, and hooked them back together.
It's working much better. Not quite what I was hoping for but 1000% better than I had.

Thanks for y'all input.
Glad you got it squared away. Curious though, why would the PO feel the need to "re-wire" it....strange. Makes me wonder, did the connector overheat causing a quick fix?

I think the replacement motor do not have the plug on the wire and why the rewire job.
One of my trucks was rewired and also think because of blower motor replacement.
