Just bought a 2016 f150 crew cab xlt and love it, except the horrible wind noise. I just traded in a 2007 1500 dodge ram and it was very quiet.
It sounds like I have a window cracked. I already took it back to the dealer and service said it was normal wind noise. It's loud to me.
I watched the YouTube video on wind noise and put tubing in my weather stripping and it didn't help one bit. I cant tell if it's coming from the window seal, weather seal or bad streamline of the door keypad.
Has anyone found a solution? I'm very disappointed because I love the truck but the noise is very, very annoying.

my 2016 is the quietest vehicle I've ever owned. it's quieter than my tundra that I dynamat'd to the gills. I would take yours to a different dealer, that noise is definitely not normal.
Really. I tested another 2016 and heard the same noise so figured it was a wide spread thing. Does yours have the button pad for the keyless entry?
yes, it does. Granted, it's not silent... I'm sure some Rolls Royce and Maybach cars out there are quieter, but it's pretty quiet . rolling down the road at 70 MPH it's quiet enough that conversation barely needs to be above a whisper. I'm sure that will change a bit with more aggressive tires, but I'm pretty confident it's still going to be the quietest truck I've ever had.
Mine has a bad wind noise at around 65 and above (or lower speeds if going into a headwind). Dealer told me they didn't hear anything, but the odometer told me that they didn't even drive far enough to hit highway speeds. It's tough to find a good dealer these days...
It's a common issue and there is no fix for it. Everyone has been waiting on the new 2017 Superdutys to see if Ford has made any changes to the weatherstripping.
For those that say their trucks are dead quiet, just give it a moment. Mine was dead quiet until I reached about 1000 miles.
So I just tried putting tubing in both the door and truck weather strips, placing an extra tape weather strip on the truck frame where the door closes and putting a small strip over the window seal. Didn't help one bit, but had to slam the door shut.
Thing is, I can place my arm over where the door seal is and it reduces the noise. It's a complete mystery how to fix it.
I asked my wife to drive it and she said she noticed something but it seemed normal. I'm pretty sure the dealer payed her off. She's now a suspect.

In my opinion, it is the cavity between the upper rear corner of the front door and upper front corner of the rear door that creates the noise. Almost like it amplifies the noise or something.
Hard to explain. Either way, neither door seal is thick enough to seal the wind as well as it should.
Do you have tow mirrors? I notice some wind noise in our '16 with tow mirrors, but the '16 with standard mirrors doesn't have any notable wind noise. Both trucks are around 500 miles, though. Both August '16 builds.
Interesting; good research! My father put a small chrome trim peice from eBay over just his keypad. I wonder if this could be enough to combat the noise. I find that trim peice to be a little tacky for my truck, personally.
The first thing that comes to mind is squirting some dielectric grease around the buttons and wiping any excess off. Or else taking apart the door to seal it from the back side. If it's as common as it sounds, there may be a TSB in the future on it.
