a few weeks ago it would run but would shut down when it got hot. Did a tune up and was trying to diagnose the issue. narrowed it down to a fuel problem.
Couldnt test the fuel pressure at the rail as I didn't have an adapter that fit the schrader valve, but I was able to see that it was barely getting a dribble of fuel.
did some digging and found the PO put brand new pumps on it but eliminated the midship tank/pump. He had wired the mid pump onto the rear pump connector.
just to be safe I pulled both pumps (the in tank pump in the rear and the HP pump on the frame) and bench tested them, they work just fine.
when i was testing I ran a ground wire to the #6 pin on the test connector, and keyd on. When i did that it melted the ground wire I ran so something isnt right.
Anyone else had this problem? any ideas what it might be? I've replaced both pumps under warranty while I had them out, I put in a new FP relay, and connector since the pins were easily pulling out of the old one.
Is it an EEC issue? is it possible to test the EEC?
It ran though, I traded for a van and he drove it to my house the way it is. Blew a trans cooler line on the way. I fixed that and found out it would run until hot then shut down. I did a tune up, then my father let the battery die. After that I'm now having the no fuel problem
