Scan Tool Code Reader Ford Diesel 6.7
1. Actron Pocketscan CP9125 worked just fine. I plugged it in, started the truck, wrote down the codes, figured out what sensor was bad, and then easily cleared the codes.

2. I also ponied up for a more detailed set up for my laptop. I opted for the ScanXL set up by Palmer Performance. They have a lot of different options like blue tooth and Apps for Apple phones. I got the ScanXL & OBD link SX which is a cable that plugs into the truck and usb that plugs into the laptop. The kit comes with software for the laptop and looks to have a lot of features.

I hope this helps anyone looking for a DIY code reader.
By the way, if you have to replace an EGT sensor I recommend you search youtube on the topic. A couple of good vids came up and saved me from making a big mistake. Basically it is very easy to strip the fitting with an open end wrench. They recommend soaking with pb blaster or something first, and then cutting the sensor wire so you can get a 6 point socket on there 13mm or 1/2 inch. I used a breaker bar and applied even pressure. It was tough, but eventually released. If you goof up the fitting to the point you cant get it out, then you have to drop your exhaust, break off the screw in attachment point, and re-weld one onto your exhaust. No fun, I'm sure. So take your time and be careful.
