By the stove, do you mean the flapper on the exhaust manifold? Mine is in place and I believe it works, I'm just missing my heat riser tubes
The "stove" is the metal shield which attaches to the exhaust manifold. There is a coiled [2"] tube which connects the stove to the intake snorkel. This provides much needed warm air to the incoming air stream, which helps prevent carburetor icing.

Funny thing is that is the only thing I have on the motor, no air filter assy.
I know you can get the 2" flex to go from the "stove" to the air filter assy.
Would be for a 4.9/300/six.
My 390 v8 has one just about rusted out... I don't know if I could make it fit or not. I'd like to try.
All the aftermarket kits I see don't have any provision for the 2" (or so) flex tube that attaches to the side of the air cleaner.
What do you or anybody think?
