302 EFI all original stuff, when I first start her up the rpm's soar up for about 20 seconds and then drop back to idle which is too low considering the engine temp, not familiar with the efi on these trucks is there a process of elimination I can go through to get her running smooth?
Pull the wiring plug off on the idle air control. Then start it up. With a fully warmed up engine you want to set the idle screw so the engine idles very slow, almost too slow. Then when you plug in the idle air control the computer will add a little bit to it. After you do all this you will need to drive a couple of days till the computer re-adjusts itself.
P.S. If when you unplug the idle air control, you turn the idle screw all the way back, and it still is idling(you should be able to stall it with the screw) then you have a large air leak somewhere.
