What have you guys run into to cause a hesitation off idle?
Hesitates then picks up and runs fine most the time.
Sometimes the motor dies but then starts right up.
The engine runs well and idles as smooth as silk.
The computer is not giving any codes (only 11).
Possibly a drop in voltage to the electric fuel pump? Also what mods do you have installed on your engine? It's possible to that you need a higher stall convertor to take it out of a dead spot in the cam. Unless you have a manual trans that is. Just a few ideas I had run through my head.
It's stone stock.
One of these days I will get around to working on it.
Seems to be getting a little better (maybe wishfull thinking).
Since it had a bad valve (#8 exhaust) there is junk all thru the motor. Problem just might be a sticking something in the emissions system.
At some temperatures my truck would fire off fine, but die immediately as if the idle air control wasn't working. The second time I would fire it, it would start and idle up just fine. For the first couple minutes of driving it, it felt like the computer wasn't advancing the ignition enough, because the truck would bog real bad. After the truck warms up, that feeling nearly goes away. My mechanic told me to check/clean the intake air temperature sensor, the coolant temperature sensor, as well as clean the idle air control valve. Hope this helps out.
