Rear Block sizes

I think I understand that a standard F 250 is a 3" block, and that the High Capacity Towing F 250/F 350SRW is a 3.25" block.

With that said, if one wanted to change the rear block to a 2" to lower some of the rake, where would you find a 2" block?

350 DRW? 450?

From what I have seen so far on here.....a bunch of F250s without the HD tow and they look really tall in the rear....as tall as the 350s. I don't know if the statement above is true or has been confirmed yet. From what I remember when this started...ALL 250s and 350s would have the same blocks....SRW that is. The Duallys will be different. I could be wrong though.

Nice to see you here Ken...

I measured a 250, SRW 350, and DRW 350. I didn't see an HD 250. The DRW trucks come with a 3" block as do the standard 250's. The SRW 350's come with a 3.25" and I'm thinking the HD 250's will too since they come with the same upgrade axle that the SRW 350's have. As to where to get a 2", I'm guessing perhaps a 2WD? I don't think anyone has posted that they've seen a 2WD in the wild yet so no way to confirm.

I frequent this forum, but I typically don't have anything constructive to add to a conversation. On this topic, I do though. I am just reporting what I observed, with all due respect to Karl4Cat.

I measured the rear blocks on two 250's, and one 350. All were CC, SB, 4x4, gas, and w/ snow plow prep. None of them had the camper package, and the 250's did not have the high cap tow (although I don't think it's avail w/ gas anyway).

All three trucks had a 3.25" block, as measured from the rear of the block. I imagine the block is probably tapered, and smaller in the front, but I didn't feel like crawler under there to confirm that (was in my clean day-out-with-wife-clothes).

I could probably go into Ford's dealer inventory page and get the VIN's of these three trucks if anyone is interested.

I have a standard 250. Rear block measurements:
rear side of block: 3.25"
front side of block: 3"

The amount of rake in mine is ridiculous IMO. I will be doing something about. Likely replace the rear block with a 2" to start.

So, bottom line is all 4wd blocks are the same. Got it. I must have measured one in front and one in the rear. I don't remember doing that but makes perfect sense. Now to find a 2wd truck... Anyone? Bueller?

When I put my 3500+ lbs of camper and gear on board I hope the 2" rake becomes neutral. The rake is a result of complaints of loading the truck squatting too much. I prefer to have the truck correct when loaded and a little high when mty. After all, it is a truck and without full air ride there will never be a one size fits alls.

From the 2wd pics ive seen on auto trader, they are quite a bit lower than the 4x4. Looks like their a good 3 to 4 inches lower. Is the rear block on a 2wd, the only difference, or to they have different leaf springs also. If its just the block then it looks like more than just an inch smaller. Also will the blocks off a 2011-2016 fit these trucks, or are they different?

My truck leveled out when I tried the 5th wheel in the driveway. Looked good.
