old Highboy
came with massive snowplow, and 460 a previous owner installed. It roars like a Lion! I ditched the 33 x 13.5 inch wheels right away, put the original tires and rims (16") back on. No power steering, stick, etc.
Yesterday we replaced the door hinge pins/bushings. It took two weeks of online and phoning to find them: Broncograveyard.com. Not even LMC carried them for 73-79, only for older!
Hint: If you have to suffer this repair, REMOVE the door first, to make work-room, and, spray the hinge assembly with penetrating oil for DAYS before.
(I would like to plunge my entire truck into a swimming-pool full of Liquid Wrench!)
Knocking the old pins out took an hour per pin. The new pins/bushings fit fine but not easily - splines had to be ground off, etc. Be creative. No "clip" for these pins, just the way it was in 1974.
Loud thanks to Broncograveyard folks!
