Hello everyone I'm a new member and I found water on my Air filter cover last weekend due to the under hood cowl having disintegrated. I wiped up the standing water with a clean cloth and put plastic over the the engine and closed the hood now I am ready to get to work on this beast but first need some advice. I need to determine if water got down the intake. I did not start the truck because i saw the water sitting on said cover. So what should I do now. Please Help. . Truck discription 1990 Ford F-350 7.3 Liter Diesel Lariet XLT 4x4. Thank you in advance. RFC
I saw a diesel forum where someone suggested pulling the injectors and cranking the engine to get the water out after a truck stalled during fording. I've also seen suggestions to change the oil in case any water made it past the rings. Couldn't hurt. There's an aftermarket filter cover for cold air intakes that allows air to pass through, but not any water. You can find it here: Injen HydroShield Pre-Filters - Injen HydroShield PreFilters (All Sizes)
Thanks for the reply GHOST TAS I have been reading everything I can find on this website must have missed that suggestion. I guess I know what I will be doing tomorrow. Thanks again.
