Replacement key

So my truck only came with one key.... the all metal style. I would rather have one that has a rubber grip on the end... even plastic would be ok. I've search online but all I see is the all metal style. Any suggestions?

Any lock shop should be able to make up a blank like what you want. If not you can get the little cover for it.

Just curious: Why do you want a key with the plastic/rubber grip?

Because for work I have lots of keys and they all look alike. Lol. Would just make it easier to find...

Actually the square headed and double sided Ford key should be easy to pick out IMHO. While they look the same, the tips of the keys that slide in the lock are different between the factory Bump key and the later model ones that had the black rubber grip. As far as I know you are stuck adding a cover for it yourself. Or maybe that DIP stuff I've seen. Meant really for dipping the handle of tools in it to create a cover or grip.

I was able to get copies made for my 72 at Home Depot. Wasn't rubber coated but they had tons of key options.

Multiple colors at Home Depot, so it would make sense to get a different color key

Ironically I work there. Options from the vendor hillman-coleman are metal only at this time

Apply Plasti-dip... the same stuff which can be used for tool grips.
