I needed an outdoor workbench for dirty work, so I built this budget bump tailgate workbench. I got the tailgate from a friend's scrap 67 f250, it was bent significantly along the long direction. I drove over it with my diesel a few times to flatten it out. Built a frame out of leftover fence posts and topped it off with a HF pipe vice.
No, its not a 900lb precision welding table, but it has some character.
Paint the portrait of the back of the truck on the wall so it looks like it is hanging there.
OR:
Have the end of the bed rails(just the last 6") mounted to the wall that the tailgate hangs from(welded solid for rigidity), but have the tail lights working, kinda like work lights.
Friend used a tailgate from a '32 Ford and hung it on the wall, painted the rest of the truck on the wall and uses it for seating.
