Driveshaft needed

I found the source of my vibration. I've looked at these tires several times and don't feel/see any seperations. I crawled around under the truck tonight looking at everything trying to find the source. I looked at the rear driveshaft and it has a big dent and slight bow. I can't believe it didn't vibrate worse.
I'm now looking for a rear driveshaft for an 1983 F150 long bed 4x4 C6 automatic. Wondering what else will fit. Should I try to find a place to get this made? Having a hard time getting to any Junk Yards due to work.

You can see how long your driveshaft is and what other trucks might have the same one here: F150 4wd Driveshafts - ???Gary's Garagemahal

And how true (not bent) do you think a JY drive shaft will run??
Me I would pull mine and take it to a drive shaft shop and have anew one made.

If you do go to the junkyard grab one that's longer rather than shorter. Lengthening is much more expensive than cutting them.

How long is the driveshaft (less the slip yoke)?

1983 F150 300/302/351W C6 4WD 133" wheelbase: Could be 32 17/32" or 57 1/8" long, depending on which type of driveshaft it has.

I haven't measured it yet. I assume it's the 57 1/8". I will try to measure tomorrow.

I have one on the parts truck I am buying, all the U-joints have been replaced but it's not 4 wheel drive so i am not sure if it will fit but it is a 2 piece for a long wheel base. I'm just not sure where you live if it will be cost effective for you.

I appreciate the offer. Mine is one piece. I think mine would be somewhat shorter due to the transfer case.

That sounds about right, wasn't sure of the length difference. I would try a jy first, having a shaft made is a little costly.

Any decent welding shop with a metal lathe should be able to make a new one the same length as your original by cutting the ends off and welding them to a new tube.

Why not just get a driveshaft made? I dont know the price of a driveshaft out right but with both u-joints and the shaft it cost me less than $125 to get mine done. There wasnt anything wrong with mine but it was too short after changing the engine and trans, causing it to leak trans fluid. It also comes with a warranty

In my area, I use Henderson Drive Line which is extremely reasonable. I'm sure if you search for a local company(s) in your area, you can get a refurbished/balanced driveshaft.
If you think about it, a driveshaft is a steel tube with joint forks welded on, then balanced...not that complicated.
