Hello fellow classic Ford truck enthusiasts. I have just joined this site because I thought it would be interesting and informative. I'm in my mid 50s now and have been around Ford trucks my whole life. I grew up on a farm so trucks were a necessity. First truck I remember is a 69 F100, 302-three on the tree, I was only 10 but it was the first vehicle I ever got to drive on the road. It met an unfortunate death by accident(I wasn't behind the wheel). Next was a 47 stepside. I was only 12 so I don't remember much except it was blue and white and had a kick start with the biggest gear shift I had ever seen in a small truck. I had to slide off the seat to start it up, pump the gas peddel three times. kick it and it started right away every time. Next truck Dad got was a new 1975 F250 Ranger with a 390 4 barrel, painted green with silver metalflake, absolutely beautiful truck, worked so hard over its lifetime with never a days trouble. Thats the truck that made me a Ford truck forever guy. I have owned many trucks but all have been from the 73-79 time period, they are by far my favorites. All my trucks have had full size boxes and cab lights. Both a must with a truck. lol. First truck I bought when I was 16 was a 1974 F100 Custom, again with the 302, three on the tree deal. Great truck but it just rusted out from under me(recycled metal years). Since then I have owned 2-1975 F150 Rangers, both automatics, one with a transplanted 351 C, the other a 351M both great. 1-1976 F150 Ranger with a 360 four on the floor. Great truck, very powerful but a gas guzzler. 1-1978 F150 Ranger bought in 1980 with a 351W, great truck, awful engine, no power and still sucked a pile of fuel, bad combination. Had to go. Next began my life with 460s and Supercabs and I'll never own anything else unless I have no other choice. Got myself a 1978 F250 SC with a 460 and a lariat cab. Great truck till I got T-Boned by a limo doing 50mph. Dead truck. Next a 1979 F250 SC with a 460, posi traction and a lariat cab, great truck while it lasted. It got to 600000 miles, ceased a piston and still ran great! Less power but I could still stand my Zippo up on the air breather when it was running, too funny. I opened the engine up and it needed to be redone top to bottom. Then I found the truck of trucks. A 1979 F350 Ranger SC Camper Special !! in great shape. Very little rust, interior like new, no cracks in the dash, manifolds were blown out but who cares those would have been torn out in any case. I have learn't that a 460 needs headers anyway so it can breath. Took the dog to Grand Rapids Michigan and brought it home. Parked the 250 in the bush for spare parts and redid this F350 top to bottom. Had it painted coal blue. (now my favorite Ford colour, wonder why they only used it in 1979 and never again?) I spent 20K but now its better than new and should last me a very, very long time. My favorite trucks are 1975s but my best trucks are 1978/79 with a big block. All my big blocks have been great and just thinking of that Winsor disappoints me to this day. After 1979 Ford didn't make a truck worth buying till 1996 when they started getting very expensive, little wonder I'm never leaving dent sides. I never owned any of those year trucks but Dad did and despite being a Ford man through and through he had very little nice to say about them only a long list of gripes till his 1996 with the 7.3, then the government said that engine had to go. I apologize for the length of this post and I'll never do it again but this was an intro. Now you all know my Ford truck history. I was mounting new wheels last Thursday( refinished white spokes off my 1979 250 with new centercaps and P245/75R16 Michellins) when I realized, to my horor, my kingpins had play!!! It took me all day Friday to find someone who had a center-line bore to cut me some brass bushings and only through contacts with members from the Fabulous 50s car club was I finally successful. Gotta be there Monday morning at 7am, they'll take the spindels off and do all that work for me then my rebuild will be complete. Took me 6 years total but now I'm set for a long time. Every time I take this truck out I get compliments from random strangers. I'd post pictures of my pride and joy F350 but I don't know how. Once I do, I will. Have a great day Ford Nation.

79 F350,
If you hit "enter" every so often it will space out your paragraphs and make easier reading. Great 1st post though.
My current Ford is a 79 F-350 4x4 and I love it. New paint may come next year.
Welcome to FTE, lots of good knowledgeable people here.
No problem on the length of your post, that's quite a backstory and quite a fleet you've had over the years.
Again, welcome.
Thanks for the welcome. I'd love to upload some pics and show it to you gut I'm not that good with computers and despite reading my "welcome to the site" package, I can't figure out how. If you have the time could you explain this process? Some people have albums posted!

It's super easy to upload pix from the phone or computer. When composing a message, there will be a little button above the box that looks like a bumpy line, but is a representation of a mountain and sun. Click the button, and a window pops up asking where your picture is. For my iPhone, it's on my device, in my photo gallery. Android is probably the same. On the computer, you'd navigate to your hard drive. Select the picture, upload and insert. It sounds more complicated than it really is. Good luck!
Give it a try and follow PBY's instructions. When you place your cursor over the yellow icon it will say "Insert Image" We would a love to see you 79 350 SC
I kept playing with it and succeeded before I got back to PBYs' instructions. Maybe. I should have an album now.? I'm going to go look, see if I can find it. Man, what you gonna do with these novice members!! lol
Now you need to know where the picture you want to insert resides. In can be located on your computer, your smart phone, or on a web service (i.e. icloud, google drive, photobucket, etc.)
If it is on your phone, make sure it is connected to your computer already and then click "Browse Your Device". If it is located on your computer, just click "Browse Your Device". If you have already uploaded to FTE, you can click "My Albums". If you are having troubles here let us know and we'll get you pointed in the right direction.
Once you have selected an image from wherever, you will get this screen:
Add more pictures if wanted and then click the insert button.
Once you do it a few times it becomes very easy. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the greeting and the compliment. Most of my friends said I was nuts to do this? New ones are 80K to buy up here and I like mine better at a 1/4 the price.
