Manual steering gear box or Saginaw power steering gear box? Fixed steering column or tilt steering column? --tilt column wasn't available in the trucks until '78 but, that doesn't mean one couldn't have been installed in an earlier model.
My '69 F100 came with manual steering and a fixed (automatic transmission) column. I installed a '78 Saginaw power steering gear box and tilt column, also from a '78.
On the tilt column, there's a bolted flange (on the column side of the coupler) at the lower end of the steering shaft. This piece was missing when I got the tilt and I couldn't find the correct coupler for it.
I installed a stainless steel 3/4" 36-spline x 3/4" 36-spline Borgeson steering joint instead.
I was in the process of installing the column and the Borgeson joint in this photo.
Kero, welcome to The Forum. Number Dummy or Jefaffa will have that part info. Just hold on for a bit, they'll be on here with part numbers and info. Ultraranger, do you know if there is a coupler that would be a direct replacement for a rag joint on a Bendix PS system?
