Yeah... you are a prime candidate for picking up an OBDII adapter. WiFi for iOS, Bluetooth for anything else. I'm partial to the OBDLink MX or LX, because I can leave it plugged in forever without worrying about battery drain or it being accessed without the key in the ignition. BAFX is a popular unit, but it has the drawback of sticking out further to hit your knee (unless you move the OBDII port), won't power down, and has a slower data rate. Avoid the little blue Chinese clones - almost every OBDII App warns against these, and many of them don't even have the physical connection to read our legacy J1850 PWM protocol.
I'll check into the adapter Tugly, that sounds like it'd be worth it's weight in gold with these engines. This little blue one I'm using now was ok with my wife's Corolla, but we have two 7.3's now and having accurate monitoring would be key.
Buffalo I would appreciate that! I've been reading these forums for a while, don't know why I never signed up. Life I guess. Feel like I owe y'all some beers.

Alot of folks us the TorquePro App, but I'm not sure if it will show the TPS (throttle position sensor) or not, Tugly and some of the others will know the answer to this. I have an older version of AutoEnginuity but some of the newer versions have given some forum members a headache or two. Edge makes some as well.
I'll post up some of the info & diagrams of the wastegate so you can get that trouble code fixed.
Do you recall what engine speed & RPM's this was happening at?
Yes Tq pro can show the Throttle position, I have mine set up as a "half gauge" that sweeps 0-100% (not the needle half gauge, which works also), I also wrote a FAQ about torque pro also that should help with most general questions.
Well, I broke down and bought AE. It's showing my wastegate values at around 99.something % at idle, and highlighted in red. I'm only an hour into getting to know this software and have a lot to learn. Does this mean that the wastegate valve is stuck open? I just installed this as a brand new unit.
I'm starting to wonder if I installed the new wastegate valve incorrectly and that might be giving me the bad readings and code? When I put it on, I unscrewed the shaft until it slipped over the pin. Should I have left the shaft shortened and used force to connect it? I'm at a loss. Everything in the wastegate system is new. I even took it into the shop and they said I had a bad EBP sensor which was giving me the code, which they charged me to replace and the code came back on during my hour drive home, but mentioned nothing about the wastegate readings being out of spec like I'm seeing with AE.
If your taking about the rod that protrudes above the turbo, then yes. You should've popped the chip off and undid it that way. The easy you have it, I bet your boost is falling off around 5#
I e-mailed you the quick reference guide this morning.
What kind are boost numbers are you seeing when the check engine light comes on. But first I would clear out all the trouble codes and start fresh. Data log your ICP, ICP duty cycle, engine rpm, MAP, Baro, & EBP when you get the time.
