Getting ready to install a new tach and led lights for the dash, going to install the tach where the AC vents would have been, hopefully no surprises will come up, I will update pics as I go
Where did you get that steering wheel? Looks real nice!

It's an oem sport wheel available as an option for our trucks. It was also used on some mustangs and fairmonts. However, you have to make sure you find one with the center horn contacts. Later models were moved to the column. I just got lucky and found this one cruising ebay that was in good condition and not listed for a small fortune. ebay or a parts yard are you best bets.

Thanks. Let the search begin. I bought a wood Grant wheel and after three months the wood started splitting. I called them (they're in Mexico and barely speak English) and they basically said too bad. So now I discourage anyone from buying one of theirs. After spending $180, this should not happen.
That's good to know about the wood Grant wheels...I was just looking at them on ebay. Probably go a different direction now. I used to have an OLD wood-rimmed wheel that a buddy gave me. It held up well, but as I said...it was OLD.
The first two months, it was a great steering wheel. Since I had taken these two pictures, it has actually gotten a little worse. I will definitely be looking for a Sport wheel.

It looks like it's separating along the joints. Any chance of using some epoxy to hold it together? I mean, I know you shouldn't have to on a new-ish $180 steering wheel but it's gotta be better than SOL, right...?
Maybe wet it down, glue it, then wrap it really tight with, I don't know...something, and let it dry.
They really don't make 'em like they used to. I said I would never get rid of the one I had (for sentimental reasons), but the car it was in sold so fast, I didn't have time to source a replacement.
I did try to gorilla glue the joints and use a "C" clamp. That didn't work. The wood wants to straighten back out. I was thinking of actually sanding it down next. It's sad to say, but I have actually gotten used to it now.
