Rear Diff. What gear oil ??

So, my Ex is at a driveline shop having new pinion, and carrier bearings put in. There is a tag on the rear diff. that says 140 synth only. (or something close to that)
Anyway, the shop says the never use synthetic.. Should I go buy some OEM or Royal purple, and bring it to them? or just let them do what they do??
What are you guys using?
Thanks

Synth haters. They are out there.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with using Synth. That's what Royal Purple is.

I went full synthetic and my rear end flew off while I was on the highway and hit a bus full of orphan nuns. Oh wait, that never happened! I used Synthetic and it has worked great ever since. No reason not to, just don't go cheap

75W140 Royal Purple here, and no issues at all. Plus no need to add the friction modifier as well for the LSD, as the Royal Purple and Mobil1 synthetics already have it.

FWIW I'm an aerospace engineer and there's absolutely no place that synthetic oil is not better than conventional oil.

Why would the tag specifically call for synthetic oil if you're never supposed to use it? I would never let that shop touch my truck again if that's their automotive education level.

Royal Purple was the cheapest I could find when I changed my rear end fluid.
