I have had a couple of dead pedal experiences and have been contemplating (dreading) some troubleshooting. I appreciate you taking point on this Matt as I considered disassembling mine to try and clean when I found out that my sensor is "integrated" in the pedal assembly and cannot be replace separately. My $40 dreams of a quick fix turned into a $1000 nightmare ($600 if I buy it online) since my pedals are adjustable. Looks like I'm going to have to start buttering up the boss for this one down the line...

Brian, if you keep the assembly in one piece, you should be able to reach all the areas that I cleaned with some deft work with CRC and the little red tube spray cans come with. A q-tip would work well too. Mine was disgusting from off-road use, PO dog hair, grime, etc. and disassembly was a requirement.

Thanks for the glimmer of hope! I've seen some pictures of ones that guys took apart when they failed and the armature is completely worn out...and there's no cleaning that back to life. At 295K I'm keeping hope alive. I'm not looking forward to explaining to my wife why a pedal costs over $500. Looks like a little QD electrical contact cleaner PMS is in order in the very near future.

With Brent gone, I have to find other methods of venting frustrations and bringing humor for all
