I have a 1987 F-150 4.9L standard shift 2wd EFI pickup without A/C. I pulled the ECC unit and it is marked E7TF-12A650-LC. Everywhere that I check for a rebuilt unit says that this unit that I pulled is the wrong one for this truck. They say that this computer is for the 305 engine or a naturally aspirated 300. I have had this truck for some years after my son had it for some years and he bought it used. The pulled unit looks like OEM all the way. If this is not the right ECC unit number for this truck then which number is the proper number? Your help will be greatly appreciated.
E7TF12A650LC is for a 5L V8 engine with manual transmission and Fedral emissions. Definitely the wrong PCM.
Here are some that should fit the truck: E7TF12A650BKA, E7TF12A650BKB, E7TF12A650BKC, E7TZ12A650BKC. All are listed for a 4.9K engine, manual transmission and Federal emissions. I suspect the one ending in BKC supersedes the others.
I guess that any engine that does not have a blower in it must be naturally aspirated. My mistake. I had a thought to call our local Ford dealership this morning and ask them which PCM should have been on my truck. I had to leave a message and thought that I may never receive a return phone call. Well about 10 minutes later a very polite and courteous gentleman from the dealership parts department called and verified that the part number that I had given him off of the removed unit was indeed the correct part number according to the VIN number that I gave him. My compliments go out to our local Ford dealership and there wonderful staff. I put in the replacement PCM this morning and all is well now. Thank you for your time and help.

It would do you well to take a picture like this (make sure you get the calibration sticker too) from inside your door frame & post it here.
You can black out the last 4 digits for security if you need.
