Just wanted to jump in and say what's up to the board. I thought I posted in the FTE intro thread but I don't see it and this is where I will spend most of my time anyway. I'm in the DC area have a 2007 expedition el and just picked up a 2000 excursion limited. Both 4wd and the Exc is the V10. Turns out it will be a bit of a project starting with the suspension and some frame rust. so I look forward to getting info and sharing with you guys. In the past I've gotten info here and there from the forum as I've owned an Explorer or expedition since 92. But I've never posted. Other interests include motorcycles (I'm what I like to call between busas right now) cigars whiskey guns and beer. Pretty standard I guess lol. Thanks for reading

Welcome to the club... do you have any ideas on the suspension where you're going to start?
thanks
from driving it feels like its all gonna have to come out. I don't know A LOT about automotive but I know basics. From what ive read and am looking at under the truck I'm going to stay about stock height because in the dc area you need to be able to get into parking garages definitely need all new shocks leaves etc. open to any and all advice and recommendations...first project like this. I can work on bikes way better and only thing ive done with my previous trucks has been stereo systems
thanks

We rented a minivan when in D.C. and barely fit in any of the garages. Good luck!
Stock is not bad if you are dealing with height restriction. Before I changed the suspension up, I was able to fit in a lot of the garages in the Baltimore area just fine. Stock height should be about 6.5ft.

thanks man
yeah I'm already used to it with the EL the places I go most will still hold the Ex at stock height with no problem. the bigger problem would be parallel parking lol I can put the EL in damn a car sized space. probably will still take the EL or one of the other vehicles for times like that anyway...its more of a just in case I may still do a small lift. its really a blank canvas right now it can go any way and I'm already blown away by the different mods ive seen here.
