Maybe you put the gauge on the suction side.

Shawn, I had to mount mine on the outside also. Not enough room between the front tank and tcase.
On mine the brake cable ran between the filters and bracket.
Works fine out there. So far no problems with rocks kicked up off the wheel.

I started assembling the pump in the kitchen. It's well built and has all of the fittings with it in individualizd baggies for each part that needs them. The fuel pump fitting is actually an SAE fitting with a washer. I realized it after i had smeared teflon paste on it and found the washer for it. I'll wipe it all down onces it's installed. Teflon paste gets everywhere.

Whats really funny is they paint the brackets in rustoleum hammer black paint which is exactly what i painted my entire truck in haha

Looking good, but you've got the post pump filter plumbed backwards.

Crap i dont know how i didnt even notice that! I am so glad you caught that!

I've got the pump and filters just hung for now, i abandoned their clamp around the frame style since mine is a cab and chasis and i am trying to avoid drilling through 1/2" of steel so i just redrilled the bracket. I'm also going to see if can get a 3/8" quick connect fitting and use 3/8" hose directly from the sender and i am going to have ESCO make up a braided stainless line that runs all the way up the frame and goes to the regulator.

That'll eliminate 2 65psi brass to stainless compression fitting with 4 65psi hose barn connections and leave it with just 2 #6 JIC connections. The only compression fitting ill have is on the return line from the banjo i believe, and i might get that made as a small flexible stainless line too.

I got it all installed but havent tested it. I lost the little plastic clip to the fuel tank disconnect so i gotta run out and get a new one. I didnt realize that the banjo bolt was the supply line, i thought that was a return. I ended up just installing it exactly as in the directions instead of having my own stainless line made. I can always do that later but the fittings i received were very high quality.

I didnt cut the stainless supply line feed from that, i ran some of the fuel line directly from the top of the FSV to the pump/filter inlet. It was a 5/16" connector with 3/8" line but i put 2 hose clamps on it and i think it'll be alright until the the 5/16" x 3/8" adapter gets here. I also tried to go straight into the banjo fitting with a line instead of a loop of hose like in the directions. It offers some support to the banjo fitting that would just bounce around.

The hose supplied is is some parker 350psi rated fuel line. Its extremely hard to push the rubber onto the connectors without any lubrication. I snugged every connection with a hose clamp even though its push lock.

The harness is extremely high quality. Every connector was labeled and not just crimped on but heat shrunk too. Also, dont paint over the paint with more pant even if its teh exact same paint haha. It must have been pretty fresh because it orange peeled up.

Well i drove it 100 miles to my first stop, did some work for 2 hours and went to start the truck, fuel pump kicked on cranked for a a split second then stopped just clicked. Tried it a few more time and popped the hood to see some smoke from near the starter. Great, i figured something had gotten in an injector somehow and held it up and hydrolocked the motor. I got under the truck to rotate it with a ratchet to see if it was seized and found the starter solenoid wire ahd come out of its sheething and rubbed through and shorted on the frame haha. So i replaced it with some 10 gauge wire and only lost 15 minutes of my day. After 180 miles today the valey pan is dry, no more diesel fuel smell in the cab. The engine idles smoother and sounds "healthier". I also noticed the truck now make 18psi with a tow tune where it made 15psi before

About 400 miles on it so far no leaks and it runs great. On a cab and chassis it really don't hang down at all, my transfercase is 2" lower than the bottom of the filters. I havent seen any rock chips on the filters yet but i still want ot build a diamonplate cover for it just to be safe, especially in the snow.

Probably stupid idea to most, but I wanted to find a suitable prefilter with a spin on clear bottom.
Similar to this.
Also put in a filter minder. These are so much bigger, they'll hold a lot more crap.
