Hey guys im new to the forum. Im having some issues with my excursion that i cant figure out. I have a 2000 Excursion with the 6.8 v10 with 195,000 on it. Here lately it has been shifting late/hard into 2nd gear. If I go really slow it doesnt shift as hard but once it gets to around 2000 RPM it almost slams into 2nd. I was told to try and unplug the battery to reset it and it didnt help any. Any suggestions on what to try or maybe what might be causing it??
Thanks.
My guess is a problem with the 1-2 accumulator valve. It's in the accumulator body inside the pan. Either the valve is sticking or the spring is broken. Either way it isn't a very difficult repair.

x2 Same happened to my 2005. It eventually got to the point where it wouldn't shift into 2 at all (skipped from 1 to 3). Ended up being a broken spring.

Would it be worth replacing the valves with steel versions or anything else while in there?
