GVWR Questions
Once again I will confess to idiocy and beg forgiveness.
My question is thus: I have a GVWR rating on my 86 F150 of 7,001 with a max tow rating of 7,500; how does the trailer translate to GVWR?
Does the pin weight (or tongue weight on bumper pull) add to the GVWR?
Can I load my truck up to 7,001 lbs and then pull 7,500? That sounds crazy!

Don't forget the GVWR rating includes what the truck weighs and the pin weight adds in as does everything you put into the truck including you and family members and fuel and the list goes on, so you may not be able to add as much as you think to reach your GVWR.

To answer your last question, you need to find the GCWR. That the gross combined weight of both the truck and trailer.
Many newer F-250 trucks will be upwards of 15,000 lbs. Not sure about your older 150.

My 2014 F250 has a GCWR of 23,500 lbs
