I have about 22,000 miles on the odometer. I bought it as a CPO with 2200 miles on it. Truck is all stock.
I have heard this noise only once before. I will accelerate up to about 45mph, back off to about 30-35 possibly less, then accelerate again. When I do, it downshifts and I hear a lout noise that sounds like a yelp a dog would make if startled.
Anybody else experience this noise or know anything about it?

Thanks Rachel,
I am planning on taking it in to Mac Haik in Georgetown,Tx where I bought it. I want to have wheels balanced & rotated. Past experience with them is a mixed experience.

Gotcha! It's my pleasure, Steve. Please send me a PM when you set up your appointment, and include your full name, phone number, and VIN. I'll look into additional options.
Mine did it also and it was a failed torque converter. Took forever for me to get ford to cover it as it was hard to duplicate.
It is hard to reproduce but I have done it a couple times now. I acceleraye up yo 40-45 and back iff the accelerator. Trans will upshift to 6th, then floor it. Trans will downshift to 3rd and sometimes yelp. i did that 3 times in a row two days ago. I tried again today and no good. I pickup my grandson from school so it is the same road and conditions where thiss happens.

Take a look at the thread I started regarding the same noise and issue. Ultimately it ended up in major component failure and lack of customer service.
ford390gashog, I read your post. I currently have +/- 22,100 on mine and has been trouble free so far. I have had bad experience with Ford Customer Service and the dealership with my 09 Explorer. I subsequently traded the Exploder for a low mileage 2014 Edge with CPO and an extended Ford warranty.
I hope I will be pleasantly surprised. The last time I was at the dealer, the service writer told me they were backed up at the transmission shop. Hmmm?
Since my noise is intermittent, I am concerned.
I will keep this updated.
BTW my son purchased a 2012 Toyota Tundra Texas Addition. His rack and pinion blew its seals and caused the truck to be undrivable. Fortuneatly, he got it parked and towed to the garage. There is no recall on the rack and pinion although this is a known problem. Toyota won't get involved. It cost $3,000 to replace the rack and pinion with a Toyota part. He had to use the Toyota new part or risk losing any reimbursement under recall if Toyota does a recall.

Hello Rachel,
I am also experiencing the same noise on my 2014 F150. I bought it brand new from dealership and now has 27k miles. I have extended warranty through dealership but just want to know that when I take it in, the problem gets fixed properly. Should I notify you when I take the truck in? Thank you for your time.

While browsing around the internet looking for info, I found TSB-14-0100. I found a real good description of the problem at 5-3 Downshift "SQUAWK" Noise and TSB-14-0100 - Page 2 while my truck is not an ecoboost, the problem sounds the same.
I carefilly monitored conditions this AM and attempted to duplicate the noise. Trans temp was 194. I accelerated to about 45mph and backed off the gas pedal to maintain speed, trans shifted to 6. I then floored the gas pedal. Trans downshifted to 3rd and went up to 70 mph. No squawk. The only difference is ambient temp was low 70's. When it squawked previously ambient temp was +/-100'F.
It is a very difficult condition to duplicate.
I won't take it to the dealer if i can't duplicate. It must be a problem if there is a TSB out on it.
