Going to look at a F250 Lariat Diesel tomorrow but had a question about the electronic locker. Can it be engaged in 2wd? Also was looking at a F150, I know in 2011 you could not engage it in 2wd can you on the 2012 and newer? Thanks!
Yes, you can engage the E-locker in 2WD. I believe it wasn't possible on the '11 F150s, but the '11+ Super Duties are all capable of locking the differential in 2WD.
My 2011 F250 the E locker works in 2 WD just by pulling the switch out on the ESOF switch on the dash. Works up to about 25 MPH then turns off automatically.
I have been in a couple of situations with my new Super Duty where I did not need 4WD but did need a little more traction on the opposite wheel. I engaged my e-locker and went right through what I was going through without the need to engage 4WD.
I really like having that functionality.
