Changing 4WD to 2WD

How to convert my 1991 Ford XLT Lariat 4WD 4.9L to a 2 WD truck????

might as well sell your 4x4 and buy a cheaper 2wd. you will mostly gain money that way. plus no work on your part if you can find a good truck

I also think you should sell it (as a 4x4 truck) and buy a 2wd truck that'll be much nicer for the same coin.

Or, obviously, the other option: always leaving it in 2hi.

or remove front driveshaft. that way if ya are having nightmares bout it itll be ok. 4wd wont work at all after that.

Same way people swap from 2wd to 4wd. Find a donor truck and swap the parts over. You're decreasing your resale value with this project.

The transfer cases in my area have been fairly cheap lately. From what I've seen, Ford uses the same one in most all of their trucks. It's not a hard job to swap either.
