Any thoughts/suggestions for car cover brands/types? Unfortunately, I have to keep my m-100 out in the summer. I'll store her in the winter. Thinking something on the heavier side. Thanks! Cindy and Maebeline
If I have not already done so; let me take the opportunity to welcome U to FTE! Deciding to chime-in, primarily to get other member's opinion. Having said that, not a fan of car covers; in my experience the cover tends to confine, and to some extent, contribute the amount of moisture/condensation trapped between the cover and vehicle. My vehicles have been exposed to the elements for the past 40ish years and I use 3/4-1" metal frame, then use bungie cords to secure the tarp to the metal frame. If have the funds a metal canopy possibly a better route, considering the life of the metal to cost of replacing the tarp ever few years?? Anyhow, food for thought, looking forward to other members thoughts?
Hi Dave, thanks for your input. I probably should have noted I'm not particularly worried about her finish. She has some nice patina, although, I probably don't need it inadvertently polished in spots from a cover . Mostly,I need to keep the water out of the cab. She needs the cracked windshield replaced. I'm trying to wait a bit on that because there is rust in the channel and on the bottom corners and the seals are shot. So, it is gonna be a bigger job. I did like your mention of keeping the moisture out. Do you have any pictures of the set up you came up with?
