I start her up, and she runs pretty rough. I turn all the lights off in the garage, and I can see corona comming out from under the plug boots on the passenger side. I occasionally see a arc from one of the wires to the rocker cover as well..
I have changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, even the distributor (hall effect senson and control module). After all that it is only slightly better. Still runs a little rough but better. I also see a lot of sparking.
The last thing I can change is the coil, and condenser.
this may sound stupid but i've had this happen to me, if you've replaced everything, then put your old distributor cap back on, dont bother anything else just the cap. and see what happens. DW
Wow...I have had that happen but I just repalced the wires and it was fixed. Seems like you have an awfull lot of power running through the wires to get it to pass through the boots and shielding. Only thing I could suggest would be make sure the boots are all the way down over the plugs and be carefull not to nick the wires when installing them. A slight scrack on the shielding can cause a external arc like that. Good luck on it
