Was just looking around under the hood yesterday, checking to see if any thing was about to fall off. It struck me that as small as the turbos are they could be used lots of places, boat motor, riding mower, anyone else thought where they could use one
There was a guy from the Jacksonville area that had a turbo'd bar stool...... Small turbos for small motors... Of course, check out some of the pro mod turbos.... They look like they could suck a small dog in them.

Let me know when you get one mounted on a riding mower. I gave away my last Briggs and Stratton mower, so I just have one with a Kohler engine now. But I could be talked into buying a different mower to cut with and making a race machine out of the little Cubbie.
I believe the smallest turbo is the Garrett GT15 and its Chinese clones of it. Few people have put them on mini bikes and go karts, just go to youtube. But they don't work too well on carbureted engines...some have converted small engines from the single on barrel to electronic fuel injection from Ecotrons. Not much is gained by either, you'd be better off going with a larger carburetor, jet, exhaust and air intake. Mini turbo is just for show and not much go.
Isn't the new gen EcoBoost using something other than K04 since it has waste gates now?

Do you mean external waste gates? I've built a few 2017 eb trucks but I thought they still had k04's. I didn't notice any external wastegates. I'm not sure why they would do that since internally wastegated turbos make for easier packaging. I guess I'll have to look closer next time a 2017 comes through the line.
