Got the trailer axle done.. Also serviced the bearings... Thinking about putting brakes on this thing. 3500# is a pretty good push behind the Rubicon and I think my TJ would have its hands full very early on...

I was looking at our neighbors camper and thinking we might need to do the opposite to get it in her garage. It sits a bit high and just need to gain a few inches.

I installed brakes on my flatbed trailer before the trip to Minnesota last year. 3,000 lbs was more than I was comfortable stopping with a 4,000 lb car, and I was glad I installed them. Between the controller, wiring, and brakes, I had about $700 into the project. $300 was the expen$ive Prodigy RF controller I chose.
Tom, I probably don't have time to get the brakes installed before we leave in a few weeks.. It will probably have to wait until next year. I sourced all the parts from eTrailer and they were't that bad.. The Jeep is already wired, but need to get the brake controller..
