Oil cooler delete

After struggling for weeks to get my oil temperature right because of Rusty iron in my coolant system I finally broke down and put in the oil cooler delete system from Bulletproof. It cost me about $2,500 not including my labor. I purchases the upgraded system, a heat exchanger in the grill. It seems to work fine, although I did my pull my boat down to Florida with 99 degree temperature in the fan blew constantly w hike coolant temperature hovered about 218. The oil cooler temperature was roughly the same give or take 5 degrees.

Oil would spike to 245 pretty fast. Even running 75mph with no load would put me around 240. It was worthless. Now it's a productive truck.

Sounds like you got that problem fixed then, now if they would come out with a silent fanblade.

I've considered biting the bullet and getting one of these air cooled systems a time or two. The other day I talked with a Ford 6.0 diesel tech and asked him what he thought about them. He told me that he's taken a few off because people had hit something in the road with them mounted on the front end, which trashed the cooler. I guess that's a pretty big let down, if you just laid out 2500 bucks. Is yours mounted below and to the right side of the bumper? That's the design that he warned me about. Not sure if they've come up with a new mounting location or not yet.

Only way that would happen is if they slowed the fan speed down.
Then to get the same CFM at a slower speed they would need a larger
fan diameter. So you might look like an old prop aircraft going down
the road and even then the fact that your moving so many CFM it's
going to make noise however you look at it. Now they might be able to
create a quieter fan if someone wanted to spend the research $$$ on it.
But by the time your done you might have a 3,000,000.00 fan sitting
in your $20,000.00 truck.

Would be a project for sure and I bet some person with the right skill-set
with time could do it. I recall a time when I cracked a fan clutch on a 1988
Ranger and we removed the fan assembly because it was cool enough that
I could run without it. Man talk about quiet on the way home.
