Engine Swap
I own a 2001 Lincoln Navigator. Im looking for a newer one, purely for aesthetics
. All the newer models under $10,000 have over 130,000 miles, my old girl only has 78,000
. Would it be too much of a project to swap my engine and put it in a newer body style? What would a job like that run me price wise?~ElDiva~
I would be careful on swapping an older engine into a newer truck. As Skauber pointed out each and every swap is different. It depends on the donor and recipient vehicles along with the skill and access to tool of the owner. In my experience it rarely pays out from a money perspective. The whole reason why people go through the trouble of a swap is really for personal benefit, not monetary benefit.
If the aesthetic aspect of your navi bothers your or you just prefer a change then I would run the current navi until it gives up the ghost while saving for a newer one with lower miles, or find some of the aesthetics on your current navi to improve. I am always amazed, despite seeing it a lot, how much a new set of tires and wheels can change the appearance of a vehicle. No lift, same paint job, just new wheels and tires; night and day difference. Or maybe even a paint job. If your navi only has 78K and is in good shape it would be with it and cheaper in the long run.
