Howdy!
I own a '93 F150 XL Supercab (#1528 out of the Dearborn plant) 2 door w/ a 5.0L, 3.08 differential, automatic, dual tank, 6' bed, captains seats, power everything. This thing has 284+k miles on it; I've owned it since it had 74k.
I like the body style of this generation & am looking to get into a rebuild project. It runs great, have never been into the engine, just regular tune ups, water pump, radiator, batteries, alternator & AC compressor/evaporator.
I'm going to be looking for direction as to where to acquire some interior items like door panels, carpet, gauge ***** etc. I'm wanting to stay as close to stock as I can less the center console...it needs an upgrade! As for the motor, I'd like to get a new crate engine, but haven't looked too much into that yet, if even feasible. On the FordF150 site it was suggested I rebuild the one I have...I dunno. This ol' girl runs very well today but does have high mileage, although I wouldn't hesitate to take it on a road trip tomorrow if need be.
Well that's enough for now. Looking forward to perusing this site for ideas & help as the need comes at me.

Luckily there is a pretty large selection of aftermarket parts for these trucks which makes them relatively cheap to work on.
Door panels, dash parts, trim pieces, etc. - You'll have the best luck searching on ebay or pulling parts from a local junkyard. Since you are in Texas you should have a pretty good supply of cleaner, relatively rust-free trucks "close" to you.
If you keep up on fluid changes and tune-ups, she should last a lot longer. Know plenty of guys who have 300K+ original miles on their gassers. Usually its the tranny's that go out first.
Question: I read on another site where a gent put Seafoam on his oil prior to a change to help clean out carbon / sludge deposit on the backside of the valves & throughout the oil passages in general. Also uses it likewise in the fuel system to help w/ the injectors. Anyone have thoughts on this?
Seafoam in the oil is supposed to work pretty well - throw it in 300 miles before an oil change.
The real magic of seafoam is when you introduce it to your intake directly through the brake booster line. You can have some fun watching guys do that on youtube. Just warn your neighbors before you do it so they don't call the fire department hehe.
