460 swap into 1976 ford f100

Not too hard, but the 460 wasn't available in a '76 F100, right? Therefore you would be looking at a smog referee judgement, and it would have to meet '78 emissions standards as it's a '78 motor.
If this weren't the case, it would be an easy deal.
Since it IS the case, and no, we don't need all you folks in states with no people to tell us how much CA sucks, I would say rebuild the 302. I think you could cheat a little on your rebuild. Does your truck have a cat?

Avoid the headaches and stick with the 302.
Beginning in 1976, in order to pass the CA smog test, ALL the original emission related parts have to be present and in good working order.
The VIN will read 302, but the 460 will not have the same emission related parts as the 302.

Mounts on frame, exhaust, cooling, transmission mount, trans linkage, possible throttle linkage, PS connections if any, all the 1978 level engine emissions stuff including the cats.
There have been a few posts in the past where people have done things like this and were not able to smog and register their vehicles. If you have all the OEM stuff, you will probably be ok. It will be a gamble.
Did your truck have cats as OEM?

OK a different line of questioning here: What, other than the "bad intake", is the status of the F350? Does it run? If not, I suggest you solve that issue now, before you do anything else... But wait--did you get a title to this truck? Is it otherwise serviceable? Why not make it a runner and drive it? Sure it's an F350 but that 460 is going to take the same amount of gas in the F100. The F350 has far better brakes and suspension than the F100.
IMO you stand a good chance of sending both trucks to the scrappy via the engine change route. As a pessimist, I will of course be pleased to be proven wrong.

With no cats required, you could increase compression, fiddle with a different cam and keep the engine appearing stock enough to pass even a legit smog inspection and end up with a runner for a lot less time and money vs. the 460 swap.
And remember, you may or may not get that 460 to run without a bunch of doing.
