Miraculously the axle tag is still there, it's barely legible. Is there a certain order to the letters/numbers on the tag?

Ok, so I took a wire brush to the axle tag and the numbers look like this:

4 09 D3TA
603395-1

Does this look right to anybody? And if so what does it translate to?

Thanks NumberDummy, guess i'll order the parts for the 3300 lb axle.

That list contradicts your first post in the link Filthy Beast posted:

Original application: 1973 F250 4WD.

C7TZ3220A .. Left Axle Shaft Assy / 28 11/32" long / Obsolete / Fits: 1967/77 F250 4WD.

B9TZ3249A .. U-Joint / Obsolete / Fits: 1959/77 F250 4WD.

No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has the axle shaft assy, which included both the inner and outer shafts.

Found a gazillion U-joints.
