FUEL FILTER VALVE

I have to replace my fuel filter drain valve on my e99. I'm going to replace the valve instead of just the o rings. Is the best place to buy this the dealer or does Napa sell them?

Depending on mileage I would pull the fuel bowl and replace all the orings and sleeves, including the drain valve. Good PM.

Yup. Was in a pinch and had to buy valve cover gaskets and the wiring from ford and that cost me just a little over $400 but I needed my truck on the road so I had to do it. If I remember right they wanted $120 just for the valve cover gaskets a piece. That's why if I can I order from riffraff or Dieselorings.

I'm doing my fuel bowl this Wednesday and I should get by tomorrow RiffRaffs mechanic combo pack of a billion O-rings..super cheap but it has all the rings you'll need in a jam. Their drain valve is here and its a good price as well. Ford - 99-03 Super Duty 7.3L - Fuel System & Related - Fuel System Filtration & Parts - Page 1 - Riffraff Diesel Performance

You got an O-ring kit from Ford? I didn't know they sold a kit.

What O-rings did it have in it? Part number?

No, got an O-ring kit from a local seal distributor. I believe it has three different thicknesses of O-ring for each diameter up to 1 1/2".

Ford does sell the Oring kit for the fuel valve. Couldn't tell you a part number though.

Yes, that's well known, however two O-rings specifically for that valve isn't a kit (the way I understand it) when compared to what has been widely accepted as an O-Ring kit sold by Bob at Diesel O-Rings and Clay at Riffraff.

That's what I misunderstood Walleye's post to say. I thought he was saying he got a similar kit from Ford.

I got something that looks like this. It was $35-$40 and covers me on a lot of stuff like household plumbing, swimming pool, car and truck applications. Many times it's more of a hassle to make the trip to ACE than it is to buy the $.50 O-ring. Large O-rings that the pool supply store wants $15 for the guy gives me for free because it costs more to do the paperwork than the $1 the O-ring costs. I asked about different applications and he told me that there are only a couple of applications where special compounds are necessary for the O-rings. I use 'em and have no problems, even in the chlorine harsh pool environment.

Super fast and efficient - order here. DieselOrings

I love those o-ring kits, but I would not use any 'Ace Hardware' type o-rings in a diesel-soaked environment.
