Will be replacing vc gaskets, uvch's, and glow plugs this weekend. Do you guys who have performed this before use any type of anti-seize compound on the gp threads? In my industrial mechanic experience, I have always used anti-seize on hot applications where there is a possibility of galling. I would be using Felpro N-5000, nuclear grade nickel base compound.
But do check the wire harness that rests on the drivers side valve cover. That tends to wear through the wire insulation. I put some liquid electrical tape on the wear spots then wrap it with some electrical tape as well.
Make sure to only use Motorcraft GP's or all the antisieze in the world isn't going to stop the aftermarket ones from swelling up and needing to be removed.
Thanks for the info guys. The wiring harness over the valve cover was the first place I looked when I started troubleshooting. It all looks good. 8 new Motorcraft Gp's are laying in the front seat now.
