Hi
I'm trying to recharge my AC after repairing a hose. It held vacuum for 20 min without any losses. I continued to pull a vacuum for an hour or so. My problem is when trying recharge it, it took one 14 oz can no problem but with the next 14oz can it is no longer taking it in. Compressor is cycling on and off and air got a little cooler but no where near where it should be.

Be patient, it can take a LONG time for that procedure to draw in the refrigerant gas as it only sucks a little in each time the clutch engages. You can speed it up by raising the temperature of the can of refrigerant. A bucket of hot (100-120F) water to immerse the can in will do the job. As the refrigerant charge inside the sysgtem increases, the on-time for the clutch will gradually increase.
You're only introducing new refrigerant to the low side, correct?
I only ask because I had the rear suction line on mine repaired earlier this summer, and vac'ed/recharged myself. Took a full charge in less than 20 minutes using 12 Oz(IIRC) cans.
