Just a quick(ish) thank you for everyone who helped after the house fire last year:
Wendy, the pups and I have been back in the house for a little over a month now and everything is slowly going back to normal. It was so hard to keep up with everything the last 8 months or so and honestly without a doubt you guys helped Wendy and I make it through both mentally, physically and financially. I could easily go into the countless things that each and every one of you did but I will try to keep it brief.
To everyone that helped in Matts Go fund me: The money helped greatly and was a huge relief financially since the insurance took quite awhile to get started with everything. We had to buy a crate for our 3 small dogs for the hotel, we had to buy all new food for them and new toys as anyone who has pets knows dogs need to be occupied and kept mentally active to stay quiet and happy. Also this happened right as the snow started to fall and we lost 90% of our clothes and our coats of course went as well. Buying those immediately was a must as well (for Wendy, I don't get cold or so I pretend). All in all instead of trying to make it by without having to resort to living on credit cards and hoping and praying we didn't overdraft with every purchase we were able to have one less thing to worry about and get just a little relief. Thank you all and most importantly... Thank you Matt.
To Twitch, Razzi, Matt (again), David, Mecdac, Stewart and most importantly Michael. Thanks for spending time talking to me and being a sounding board for things. You have helped me in many ways varying from the house, to trucks, to life itself (Michael). I wasn't always able to take the advice given and I didn't always like the advice given but 99% of the time it was what I knew deep down was right and I did it.
Everyone here is amazing and I thank all of you for supporting Wendy and I. I only hope I can do the same for you guys in some way in the future.
Nice story to read on my return to the forum after 7-8 years of driving a chebby(not my idea but things conspired). My first V10 was a 2001 F350 4.1 4 door longbed dually. WAY over anything I need or needed! I started with a Suburban(it overheated on the way home with the trailer!) in 2006 that couldn't tow itself, and due to a shortage of time before our first trip I picked the only big truck that they had left on the lot... When I got back, gas was still high out here, so I went back to the lot and they had a 98 chebby c2500 longbed 5.7l 3.73. I didn't enjoy it much at all and it took til 2 weeks ago to get out from under it.......and be able to afford a replacement.
But enough about me, glad your life is getting back to normal, and also happy about how the forum family pitches in.
