Disabling PATS?

I have a 2003 7.3, that I am in the process of installing stage 2 injectors from PIS, and a GearHead Hydra chip. GearHead tells me there is no way to run the Hydra without unplugging the PATS module, under the dash.

Here is my question. Is this even possible with out ending up with a disabled Excursion, and if so, what will I loose by unplugging it?

If this is possible, where is the PATS module? I was told to just unplug the big green connector going into it.

Thanks!

Kevin

I have PATS, Hydra and Gearhead. No problems here, but I have an '01. Maybe some changes to the '03 I don't know about...

I have a 2000 7.3 Excursion with the Hydra as well. Now I am going to have to get a plain key cut and check to see if my PATS is still functioning.

Did you download the HydraFlash software, and check the box for PATS enabled? Or did you just plug in the chip and run it?

Gearhead is telling me the only way that they will guarantee their tunes will work, is by unplugging the PATS.

My worry is that if I unplug the PATS, some crazy unintended consequences might happen.

Anyone have experience with unplugging PATS?

I just plugged mine in and ran with it. I did download the software, but I have not changed anything on the chip since they sent it to me. My theft light blinks rapidly for about 2 mins each time I start it. Then it just goes away...

This is the reason I purchased the DP F6, it works with PATS. My dash lights operates as designed. I did pull my DP, but PATS works correctly with the chip/tune.

I would like to try the Hydra/gearhead, however I don't want to rear into my dash to disable modules of the Excursion.
